Being Fully Prepared & Having 100% Engagement From All Learners
September 26, 2019Managing Oversized Classrooms
November 30, 2019When teachers give so much of themselves every day, it’s wonderful to see events that celebrate and reignite their passion and purpose. The Rise Up Teachers’ Conference held in Durban, KZN, on World Teachers’ Day, was just such an occasion. Educators from near and far – including a number of the Edufundi mentees and mentors – joined together as part of a #CommunityofCourage to learn, share and be inspired.
Edufundi mentor Robyn Pitot sat on a discussion panel with Thembi Ndlovu (the principal of Indanda Seminary, programme manager of the Khanyisa-Inanda Communiy Project and regional school’s co-ordinator for the Global Teachers’ Institute) and Dr Gabrielle Wills (education economist and post-doctoral fellow with RESEP at Stellenbosch University). Since the topic was Passion and Professional Development, this was a valuable forum for discussing the Edufundi mentoring programme, and the positive impact of this approach to unlocking teachers’ potential.
Thank you to Dr Wills and City Story Durban for organising this event and inviting us to be part of this movement to encourage teachers to #Rise Up and shine! #Uyisibusiso
