Welcome back to the #EdufundiAtHome video series, helping you to teach like a champion at home. Today we are looking at how to set simple objected for each lesson.
Welcome to the first of our #EdufundiAtHome video series! As a parent or caregiver, you are being encouraged to teach your children at home during lock-down. This can be a daunting task. That’s why we have created the new #EdufundiAtHome video series, to help you teach like a champion at home.
Teaching as many may know is not as easy as it may seem. It is embedded with many different facets to which a teacher has to adapt to. You have a duty of teaching, caring, disciplining, alongside many others. Being a novice teacher and having to adapt to these demanding roles was extremely challenging.
We are currently being faced with a global pandemic which has led to increased anxiety levels about our physical and mental health, safety, employment opportunities, and schooling. Here is a helpful list of creative ways of keeping you and your family's anxiety in check during lockdown.
Homeschooling prior to the lockdown has been successful all around the world. Families who homeschooled were able to meet and share. Extracurricular activities were also an indulgence. With homeschooling during lockdown the absence of socialising can be stressful.
It was a truly intimidating experience for the Edufundi team when we first walked into Ludwe Ngamlana school four years ago. The school had a staff component of 48 teachers that catered for 1500 learners, so we weren’t sure how we were going to make a difference given the size of the school.
There are 1080 learners at the school, but less than 20% of the parents and caregivers are involved in the education of their children. This lack of parental involvement places additional pressure on teachers and school leaders alike, which compounds what is already an extremely challenging learning environment.
