Edufundi Welcomes New Leadership in South Africa’s Basic Education Sector

On Tuesday the 4th June, Edufundi held a hybrid AGM, marking the first time since 2019 that some of our team could gather in person. Funders, staff, board members, and schools joined us in celebrating our achievements in 2023.
The event featured a performance by the Encotsheni Primary School choir from Khayelitsha, followed by highlight reports from our Chairperson, Palesa Nkabane, and CEO, Setungoane Letsatsi. As a unique twist, we hosted a panel discussion led by Professor Al Witten from Leadership Lab SA. The panel included Anusha Naidoo from the Department of Education, Nomfundo Samsam, a teacher from Encotsheni Primary School, Mr. Stanley Allies, principal of Bridgeville Primary School in Athlone, our Monitoring and Evaluation expert Robin Pocock, our Western Cape Teacher Mentor; Tandiwe Mguli and KZN Provincial Manager & Leadership Support Coach Bheki Ngidi.
The panel discussed several key points including celebrating 25 years of Edufundi in the education landscape, reflecting on the significant shifts and contributions over these years, and paving the way forward for the future.
